QUETTA (Dunya News) – As many as four police officials including Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) on Thursday have embraced martyrdom in a gun attack while seven including Deputy Commandant of Frontier Reserve Police (FRP) Tariq Malik sustained injuries in another attack in Peshawar.
According to details, the explosion took place in the area of Hayatabad targeting the car of Deputy Commandant FRP. Sources reported that the FRP official was immediately taken to the Hayatabad Medical Complex in a critical condition for medicinal assistance. However, two gunmen lost their lives in the attack.
Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) and police cordoned off the entire area and launched an investigation into the matter.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mian Saeed confirmed that the attack was a suicide blast and revealed that the suicide bomber was on a motorcycle.
SSP Investigation has stated that senior officer of FRP is out of danger now and added that police officers have collected the evidence and body parts of the attacker.
Separately, at least four police officials including ASI were killed when unidentified assailants opened fire on a police mobile in Quetta’s Pashtoonabad area.
According to police, the gunmen opened indiscriminate fire on the mobile and later fled away from the scene.
Heavy contingent of police and Frontier Corps (FC) reached the scene after the incident and cordoned off the area.
