Summary The Advisor informed Senate that the government has taken strong notice of Modi's statement.
ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - Prime Minister s Advisor on Foreign Affairs, Sartaj Aziz on Wednesday urged the international community and the United Nations to take notice of the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi s open admission of indulging in subversive activities to destabilize Pakistan.
While briefing the Senate, Sartaj Aziz said Pakistan will take all possible steps to expose India s role in the breakup of East Pakistan in 1971 and its threat to destabilize Pakistan through terrorism.
He said the government has taken strong notice of Modi s statement in which he acknowledged his country s role in the events of 1971 in the then East Pakistan.
Aziz stressed that Pakistan believes in peaceful co-existence and maintaining good neighbourly relations with India.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that it was regrettable that the Indian politicians not only indulge in actions that are in violation of the United Nations’ Charter but also take pride in recalling their interference in the internal affairs of other states.
Indian attempts to sow seeds of discord between the two brotherly nations of Pakistan and Bangladesh will not succeed, he stressed.
On Sunday, Modi accused Pakistan of creating "nuisance" and "constantly" troubling India by promoting terrorism. He gave these remarks during the course of his address at the Bangabandhu International Convention Center in Dhaka.
