Bus hijacking turns out to be fake, passenger arrested for false reporting

Summary Police officials had also confirmed the report of hijacking initially.

MULTAN (Dunya News) – Information about a bus bound for Multan from Faisalabad being hijacked on Wednesday turned out to be fake. A passenger on the bus named Tanveer was arrested for falsely reporting about the hijacking and has been shifted to Kahna police station for further investigation. The driver of the bus Gulzar, while talking to Dunya News, said that the bus was stopped in Dajkot after it hit a rock.

According to the details, roads and area around Khanewal were blocked after report of a bus hijacking in Dajkot was received. Security departments were also put on high alert. Police officials had also confirmed the report of hijacking initially and it was stated that the bus was being directed towards Dera Ghazi Khan.

Later, Deputy Superintendent (DSP) Motorway while talking to Dunya News, informed that the bus was not hijacked. He stated that the driver stopped the bus in Dajkot after it hit a rock.

Passengers of the bus stated that the window of the bus broke, but there was not any incidence of robbery.
