Another storm: 'Ashobha' just 750 Km away from Karachi

Summary Direction of the storm shows that it will not directly hit the coastal belt of Pakistan

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Another sea storm named ‘Ashobha’ is advancing towards Pakistan’s miles long coast on Monday. According to the Meteorology department, the storm is just 750 Kilometer (Km) away from Karachi. Meteorology Department is keeping an eye on the storm that is advancing with a speed of 30 to 40 nautical miles per hour. The center of the storm is in the south east of Arabian Sea, while the direction of the storm is towards north and north west.

According to the Meteorology department, the direction of the storm shows that it will not directly hit the coastal belt of Pakistan but the weather of the country will be affected by the storm. Meteorology Office has asked people to take protective measures in order to deal with expected weather conditions. Meteorology Office is regularly releasing the reports about the storm.

The city administration of Karachi has stopped fishermen from going far in the sea while an alert notice have been issued to the related departments. The minister of local bodies ordered to remove all the bill boards from the city in order to avoid any accident earlier but no such action was taken till the moment, to which Commissioner of Karachi Shoaib Ahmed said that the order of removing bill boards was given after the threat of storm but as the danger of storm’s hitting Karachi is no more there, the bill boards will not be removed.

City government has announced emergency in all the hospitals of the city while K-Electric has also asked the citizens to avoid going near electric cables.
