Summary Budget 2015-16 does not fulfill needs and expectations of industrial sector: APTMA

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Lahore Chamber of Commerce declared the budget 2015-16 as balanced on Friday. Members of LCC heard the budget speech of Finance Minister Ishaq Dar sitting together. The members appreciated government for giving relief to builders and industrialists of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). LCC members said that it is a positive step to trade in Rupees instead of dollars with Afghanistan but there is need to take more steps in order to control smuggling on the western border.

All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) on the other hand rejected the budget and said that the budget does not fulfil needs and expectations of industrial sector. Business sector stated that they will be able to make a final opinion about the budget after seeing the details of the Finance Bill. This fear was also expressed that as government have announced the taxes worth 500 billion rupees for the next fiscal year, the extra burden will be on public and industrial sector at the end.
