Summary ECP had nullified PK-95 by-election because women were barred from casting their votes.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Friday issued schedule for re-polling in the PK-95 constituency of Lower Dir in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to the schedule, candidates can submit their nomination papers on the 15th and 16th of this month.

Final list of the contesting candidates will be displayed on June 26 while polling will be held on July 12.

Earlier, the election in this constituency was nullified by the Election Commission after it received complaints that women were barred from voting in the constituency.

Not a single woman out of 53,000 registered female voters cast her vote on the day of polling on May 7.

PK-95 seat fell vacant after Maulana Sirajul Haq was appointed Senator and Jamaat-e-Islami candidate Aizazul Mulk Afkari had won the by-polls.
