Not a single culprit behind MQM workers' killings brought to justice: Altaf

Summary As many as 15,000 workers have been "martyred' so far in flawed convictions

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain on Thursday has said that not a single culprit behind party workers’ killings was punished by the government.

He expressed these views while addressing the workers in MQM headquarters Nine-Zero early in the morning.

He said that he is aware of the problems faced by the workers under the government. He said that the workers who lost their lives for the movement are martyrs and should not be recalled as dead.

The MQM chief complained to the Sindh government that the law is continuously being broken in name of maintenance of peace. As many as 15,000 workers have been “martyred” so far in wrong convictions, he added.

Hussain said that Waseem died of severe injury on head according to the autopsy report.

The MQM chief appealed the public to close down the business centres and transport voluntarily today for the cause. He further instructed the workers to demonstrate a peaceful protest outside press clubs in different cities.

Separately,  a terrorism case has been registered against MQM s Amir Khan for providing terrorists a safe haven.

As many as six criminals including Ubaid K2 have also been nominated in the case. The development has come in the episode regarding Rangers search and seige operation at the MQM headquarters Nine Zero which resulted in arrest of convicted criminals and seizing of illegal weapons.
