Summary Ayyan Ali was arrested from the VIP lounge where there was no custom counter: Lateef Khosa
RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – The court of Special Judge Custom Rana Aftab Ahmed rejected the petition of bail on Wednesday from model Ayyan Ali who is arrested in the case of money laundering. The lawyer of the arrested model, Lateef Khosa said in his arguments that air port s security forces are not allowed to check passenger’s gold, silver or currency, he said that the duty of air port security forces is to stop armed people from entering the airport and to carryout body search of people.
Lateef Khosa said that Ayyan Ali was arrested from the VIP lounge and there was no custom counter, he also said that anyone can sit in VIP lounge by just paying 1000 rupees and sitting there is not a crime. He gave the argument that Ayyan Ali was declared smuggler before even the clearance of her currency. He said that the model charges 5 lac rupees for one show and she was taking this amount to give to her brother in Dubai.
The lawyer of Custom, Farhat Lodhi said that money laundering is bigger crime than smuggling and currency smuggling is part of money laundering. The court rejected the bail petition after hearing the arguments of both sides.
