KARACHI: (Dunya News) – Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Rabita Committee has on Friday demanded that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) must ensure the participation of women voters in Khyber Pakhtunkhawa (KP) local body elections, reported Dunya News.
In a statement issued from Karachi, Rabita Committee said that 43% of the voters in KP are women according to the ECP record. They said that several political and religious parties made a pact in the past barring women from voting in the election. Rabita Committee demanded that elections in areas where women participation remains low should be declared void.
MQM Rabita Committee demanded that the political parties barring women from voting should be banned by the ECP.
