Summary 1 restaurant, 1 juice corner, 3 ice-cream factories and 3 soda water plants were sealed
LAHORE: (Daily Dunya) – Punjab Food Authority has on Friday sealed 8 entities on the basis of unhygienic conditions in the kitchens, dining halls and food processors including a restaurant, juice corner, 3 ice-cream factories and 3 soda water plants, reported Daily Dunya.
According to the details, Food Authority’s field teams visited various areas in Lahore and sealed these entities upon charges of unhygienic conditions and failed samples. Chill n Chilli Restaurant and New Gulshan Juice Corner were sealed due to lack of cleanliness while Rehman Ice Factory, Nasir Ice Factory, Mudassar Ice Factory, Samad Soda Water Factory, Mujahid Soda Water Factory and Bismillah Lemon Soda Water Factory were sealed as their sample failed to pass the laboratory tests.
The ice-cream factories and soda water plants were using substandard ice and soda water.
Moreover, the field teams visited various other food points in the city and issued notices to improve their quality of services. Several shops were fined a total of Rs. 49,000. Among those fined were PC Hotel, King Edward College Canteen, Malhar Banquet Hall and 5-Star Banquet Hall.
