Summary Western alignment from Gwadar to Khunjerab will be completed on priority basis: PM Nawaz Sharif

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif said on Thursday that all the political leaders are on the same page about the project of Pak-China Economic Corridor, he was talking to media after the All Parties Conference (APC). He said that Pakistan have lost some golden chances of progress in past but now the economic corridor project will prove to be a milestone in the development of Pakistan. PM said that the 21st century is the century of economic competition. He said that the politicians have learned good lessons from the mistake of past so they all showed their political maturity on the issue. He said that the western alignment from Gwadar to Khunjerab will be completed on priority basis.

All the political leaders showed their pleasure and consent on the issue after the APC. Ammer Jammiat Ulama-e-Islam (JUI) Maulana Fazalur Rehman said that the project of Pak-China economic Corridor is a good sign for the development of the country. He said that the work on Mianwali and Dera Ismail Khan section will be started within this year.

Talking to media, Ameer Jamaat Islami Siraj-ul-Haq said that the economic corridor will bring economic stability in Pakistan. He said that the mutual consent of the leaders over the issue is especially in the favor of Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). Mutahhida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Farooq Sattar said that government should form a parliamentary committee for monitoring so that the project would prove to be ‘national’ in reality.

Awami National Party (ANP) leader Asfandyar Wali said that all of the parties showed political maturity during on the issue. He said that all national matters should be solved like this with mutual consent. Asfandyar Wali said that PM also showed generosity and agreed to the demands of the parties as well.
