KARACHI (Dunya News) - Public’s unease is increasing in Karachi as the water crisis has intensified in the metropolis. The claims made by Water Board of providing free water tankers in areas severely hit by the crisis have proven hollow. Saeedabad residents have been forced to have water boring even in mosques, Dunya News reported on Monday.

Natives of the area said that there has been no water for the last three months yet they have been receiving water bills regularly. They said that they registered their complaints at all levels but the management took no action on those complaints. They said that people were facing several diseases due to salty water.

Earlier, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain talked with CM Sindh Qaim Ali Shah on telephone on Sunday and discussed various political issues with him.

Altaf Hussain also asked Chief Minister to play his role in solving the current water crisis in Karachi. He said that MQM has some proposals to solve this issue. On the other hand, a delegation of MQM will meet Chief Minister today to discuss water crisis.
