ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Chairman Pakistan Ulema Council Tahir Ashrafi on Thursday proclaimed that Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar has gone missing and requested the media to air tickers of Interior Minister being ‘missing’.

Ashrafi announced ‘protest day’ on Friday against the Safoora Chowrangi massacre that left 46 people of the minority Ismaili community dead and several wounded.

Addressing Ittehad-e-Ummat (unity of Muslim ummah) conference in Islamabad under the banner of Pakistan Ulema Council, Ashrafi said that everyone including Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Army Chief General Raheel Sharif reached Karachi but Chaudhry Nisar Ali disappeared from the scene.

“What good is interior minister for if his role is to be performed by Prime Minister and Army Chief”, he said.

The joint declaration of the conference said that ‘protest day’ will be observed across the country on Friday to mourn the Karachi tragedy.

The declaration announced joint struggle for protection of sacred sites in Saudi Arabia and against terrorism. It also welcomed dialogue between Afghan Taliban and Afghanistan government.

The conference’s declaration further condemned publishing of blasphemous cartoons in United States (US). It demanded the government the implementation of the National Action Plan (NAP).
