Summary PM Sharif paid tribute to the victims of the Naltar heli crash
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif said on Monday that he has passed a recommendation to President to bestow the civil gallantry award Sitara-e-Pakistan on the deceased ambassadors of Naltar copter crash, reported Dunya News.
Addressing a condolence reference for the deceased in Foreign Office (FO), PM Sharif paid tribute to the victims of the Naltar heli crash. Sharif said that the nation stands by the entire diplomatic community during the trying times.
Expressing sadness at the loss of the lives during Naltar heli crash, Sharif said that the respective ambassadors had strived to bring the countries closer by maintaining close diplomatic relationship. He said that he had intended to spend an afternoon with them in the beautiful Naltar valley of Gilgit and discuss pleasantries.
Sharif said that the ambassadors had gone to Naltar for the inauguration of a ski-resort when they met the tragedy.
Paying tribute to the martyred pilots who met their fate during the crash, PM Nawaz said that upholding the highest tradition of duty, the pilots had tried their upmost to prevent loss of life of both crew and the people on ground.
PM Sharif said he had directed FO to speed up the process of rehabilitation and formalities to facilitate the countries and families of the ambassadors involved.
Praying for the deceased ambassadors of Norwegian and Philippines, Sharif said that no words could describe the feeling the whole nation went through for the last couple of days.
He prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured ambassadors of Indonesia and Netherlands.
