Summary Mirza has been granted bail for Rs 1 lac for all the three cases.

KARACHI (Dunya News) – The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Saturday has granted bail to former home minister Zulfiqar Mirza till May19 in the three cases registered against him for storming a police station earlier.

The court also ordered Mirza to submit Rs 1 lac and appear before the court on May 19.

Supporters and Mirza and Pakistan Peoples Party s (PPP s) workers chanted slogans after court s decision.

His protective bail ended today as a result of which he appeared before the court for hearing.

According to details, the routes going to ATC were closed  by placing containers whereas more than 1500 police contingent, police mobiles, armored vehicles and two Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) teams were deployed in the surrounding areas of the court.

Employees of public institutions and residents were being allowed to go to their offices or homes after checking.

Besides this, media was also banned to enter ATC and Sindh High Court (SHC).

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Zahid Hussain said that journalists are refrained from entering the court as per the court orders.

SHC also transferred cases against Mirza, registered under terrorism act, from Badin to Karachi.

Earlier, Former Sindh Home Minister Zulifqar Mirza and Deputy Superintendent Police (DSP) Abdul Qadir Samoo exchanged harsh words after police officials attempted to nab close companion of Zulfiqar Mirza.

As per details, enraged Mirza stormed the Badin police station and broke the table glass and mobile phone of security officer as arguments turned violent.

The officers said that Mirza has threatened them with indecent language whereas he further stated that the administration would be responsible if any of his companions or supporters were harmed.
