Summary Additional Chief Secretary made this startling revelation in front of judicial commission

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Former interim Additional Chief Secretary Punjab Rao Iftikhar admitted on Wednesday to asking 200 men with prior knowledge of printing ballot papers in front of judicial commission, reported Dunya News.

Former interim Chief Secretary Punjab Javed Iqbal and former interim Additional Chief Secretary Rao Iftikhar were cross-examined by judicial commission.

On being queried by Chief Justice, Javed Iqbal told that that he had taken charge of his post on April 5, 2013 and handed over his charge to successor on May 18, 2013.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) lawyer asked the Chief Secretary whether he had asked for 200 additional men for printing ballot papers to which he replied that the request had been made to Additional Chief Secretary Rao Iftikhar.

The matter was put in front of former interim Chief Minister Najam Sethi as well, it is learnt. Mention of Urdu Bazaar was made in the request as well.

Former Additional Chief Secretary Rao Iftikhar also presented himself in front of judicial commission where he told the commission that he took oath for his post on April 8 and remained on duty till May 27, 2013.

Speaking in cross-examination conducted by Abdul Hafeez Peerzda, he told that provincial election commission had asked for 200 men with prior knowledge of printing ballot papers.

He said that provincial election commissioner had called him in which he had directed commissioners of Rawalpindi and Lahore to assist him.

Commission’s next meeting will take place on Thursday at 11:00 am during which Mehboob Anwar will be cross-examined
