Summary Speaker disallowed the resolution against Altaf Hussain's anti-army remarks.
KARACHI (Web Desk) – Sindh Assembly witnessed rumpus on Monday when Speaker did not allow Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Pakistan Muslim League Functional (PML-F) and Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) members to table a resolution against Altaf Hussain for his recent remarks against the PAK Army, Dunya News reported.
Shortly before question hour session, PTI parliamentary leader Samar Ali Khan, Shahryar Khan Mahar of PML-F and PML-N leader Liaquat Jatoi asked for permission to table the resolution condemning MQM chief`s remarks but Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani rejected the move.
In protest, the agitated members stood close to Speaker’s desk to lodge their protest and then staged walkout from the house.
On Saturday, the Balochistan Assembly unanimously approved a resolution condemning Altaf Hussain’s anti-army remarks.
The resolution was tabled by Balochistan Home Minister Sarfaraz Ahmed Bugti and was supported by both government and political parties.
PTI has already moved resolutions against MQM in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab assemblies.
