DADU (Dunya News) – At least twelve people died while another thirty seven injured due to electrocution and fire as a wedding bus came in contact with power cables, Dunya News reported.

The jubilant household turned into mourning after bus carrying wedding guests caught fire on their way back to Dadu from Khairpur Nathan Shah’s Dattal Babar village.

The bus came in contact with heavy electric wires, causing electrocution before it caught fire. At least eight died on the spot while the injured were rushed to Tehsil Hospital Khirpur Nathan Shah.

The hospital declared emergency situation but lack of facilities caused injured to suffer even more. Six of the injured were transferred to a hospital in Larkana; among whom, seven-year-old Farhan succumbed to injuries.

Two more women burnt in the incident Hasil Bibi and Khatoon Bibi succumbed to injuries while they were being transferred to Karachi.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah took notice of the incident and have directed to make best medical facilities available to the affectees.
