Summary Authorities have issued high alert and asked residents to remain alert.
ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Issuing severe weather warning, the Pakistan Meteorological Department on Wednesday reported that windstorm and rain may occur at one or two places in Kohat, Bannu, Bhakkar, Mianwali, Chakwal Districts during evening or night.
After warning by the PMD, Rescue 1122 issued an official notification and directed the staffers to carry out double shifts in case of emergency.
Rain- thunderstorm (associated with gusty winds) is expected at scattered places including Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat, Bannu, Mardan divisions, FATA, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Sargodha divisions and Kashmir, while at isolated places in Dera Ismail Khan, Gujranwala, Lahore, Faisalabad divisions and Gilgit- Baltistan during evening and night.
Dust-storm may also occur at isolated places in DG Khan, Multan and Sahiwal divisions.
Hottest places recorded during last 24 hours include Turbat 46°C, Lasbella, Sibbi 45°C, Chhor, Dadu 44°C, Jacobabad, Mithi, Larkana, Hyderabad, Moenjodaro, Badin and Shaheed Benazirabad 43°C.
Earlier on Sunday, at least 45 people were killed and nearly 200 injured when devastating windstorm coupled with heavy rain and hail hit Peshawar in northwest Pakistan.
The storm also pulled out electricity poles that caused power suspension to Peshawar and its adjoining areas, and disrupted the telecommunication system in most parts of the city.
