PESHAWAR (Web Desk) – Relief work is underway in rain-hit areas of Peshawar including Wahid Garhi, Pakha Ghulam, Badhu Samar Bagh and adjoining areas on Tuesday, Dunya News reported.

On the other hand, the district administration has declared 59 union councils (UCs) sensitive ahead of likely rains and floods. The residents have been asked to remain alert.

According to PESCO administration, technical fault has been reported in 18 grid stations and more than 50 electricity poles have crashed.

Power suspended in Wahid Garhi, Khazana and adjoining areas around 6:00pm on Sunday could not be restored yet.

At least 45 people were killed and 250 others injured following heavy rains and windstorm in three districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Sunday.

A heavy storm hammered different areas of the province, including Peshawar, Charsadda and Naushera, followed by heavy rains on Sunday.

Roofs of many houses were blown off as heavy winds hit parts of the province, collapsing walls and electricity poles. At least 17 mm rain was recorded in Peshawar and adjacent areas, while strong winds ran as high as 110 kmph.
