 SLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Former President Asif Ali Zardari said on Friday that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) had opened the doorway for reforms by lifting the ban on political activities in tribal areas. He added that formation of local governments is the right of tribal people, reported Dunya News.

Meeting the political coalition in Zardari House, Islamabad Asif Ali Zardari said that local body elections should be held in tribal areas as they are being held in cantonment boards.

Asif Ali Zardari said that by making amendments to Frontier Crime Regulation, PPP had restored political activities in Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA). He pleaded that steps should be taken to form tribal government in FATA.

He also demanded that migrants from tribal areas should be returned to their homes as soon as possible.
