Summary The Punjab Police had borrowed containers during the PAT-led protests in the city
LAHORE (Dunya News) – The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday has ordered Punjab Inspector General (IG) to submit reply in the case of pending rent of borrowed containers during the Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) protests in the provincial capital.
After the hearing began, petitioner Muhammad Shahid said that the Punjab Police had borrowed containers during the PAT-led protests in the city on rent. He said that at least Rs 31 lac rent is pending and the authorities are delaying the matter.
The petitioner urged the court to order the police authorities to pay the pending dues. However, the government’s counsel said that Shahid should have written an application to the police before approaching the LHC.
The court ordered the IG to submit his reply in the case within a week.
