KARACHI (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) chairman Imran Khan on Saturday contacted PTI’s local leadership in Karachi. Khan urged the PTI leaders to remain peaceful. He said that the Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) provocation was an unsuccessful attempt to stop the elections.
The PTI chairman strongly condemned the incident of uprooting of PTI’s camp in Karachi. Khan stated that the law enforcement agencies should immediately take notice of the incident. Khan asked that where was the Election Commission’s code of conduct now. Khan also stated that the Sindh police had utterly failed in protecting the PTI members.
Khan demanded the arrest of culprits responsible for uprooting their party’s camp. Khan stated that MQM had violated the code of conduct which it had previously itself pledged to adhere to in front of their Governor. Khan stated that the PTI’s workers will not be afraid of such crude tactics.
Jamat-e-Islam’s (JI) chief Siraj-ul-Haq also harshly condemned the attack on PTI’s camp in Karachi. He stated that Karachi wasn’t somebody’s property. He stated that running an election campaign was a fundamental right of all political parties. The JI chief also stated that the concerned departments should carry out necessary measures to stop violence during Karachi’s elections.
