LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Minority Wing’s Punjab leader Shenela Roth on Thursday said that Punjab police is harassing the youth and members of the Christian community residing in Youhannabad . Roth demanded the release of imprisoned Christians in jails before Easter.

Speaking at ceremony organized in Asif and Hamza Towns, PTI Member of Parliament (MPA) said that the police are conducting search operations without warrants. Addressing the crowd, Shenela Roth said that she had met with Director Inspector General (DIG) Operations Haider Ashraf in this regard.
The PTI leader said that the populace of Youhannabad is more afraid of  threat of police brutality than terrorism.

Roth said that the Christian community can be seen in a state of terror on the occasion of Easter. She stated that the Punjab government and the police were responsible for this.

Roth also stated that the government should not punish the Christian community for its own ignorance. She stated that the Christian community played its complete role in formation of Pakistan. Roth said that the Christian community is standing with the Pak Army in the fight against terrorism like the rest of the nation.

Roth along with other party leaders expressed her condolences with Adnan Shamim Bhatii, the son of Shamim Bhatti who died in the Youhannabad incident.

Roth and the party’s leaders visited Nankana district. Addressing the public parties of Matunpur, Sangla Hill and Youngsonabad, Roth stated that PTI is working hard to resolve all issues of minorities. Roth assured that the party will solve all the problems of minorities once it is in power.

On this occasion, the Christian community announced that they will join PTI in large numbers and completely support it in the municipal elections.
