Power crisis persists as shortfall escalates to 3700mw

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The electricity crisis in the country has once again intensified as the shortfall escalated to 3700 Megawatt (MW), Dunya News reported on Thursday.

As per National Transmission and Despatch Company (NTDC), demand for power has been increased to 13,400 whereas its production has been limited to only 9,700 creating load-shedding of six-hour in urban areas and eight-hour in rural areas.

However, few urban areas have also observed eight-hour of load shedding whereas there are several rural areas who are still facing power outage of ten-hour.

According to officials, the shortfall of electricity can be reduced by the reworking of closed power plants.
