LAHORE (Dunya News) – The Punjab government on Tuesday has decided to increase the price of imported wheat by at least Rs 100 maintaining the price at Rs 1,300 per 40 Kilogram (kg) bag.
Chief Minister (CM) Punjab ensured the farmers to protect their interest. CH Shahbaz chaired a meeting in the CM House. The meeting decided to import at least five-ten lac metric ton wheat.
According to the sources, the government would buy at least 40 lac metric ton wheat this year. He ordered the authorities concerned to first pay the farmers and then take wheat. The CM expressed a resolve to not let the wheat prices in international market affect the farmers.
