KARACHI (Dunya News) – Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) member Saulat Mirza’s wife on Monday revealed that her husband was given a different treatment in jail as compared to other prisoners. Mirza’s wife stated that her husband was provided different facilities by jail officials on behalf of MQM. She stated that the MQM chief Altaf Hussain’s birthday was celebrated on the gallows in the jail.
According to the details, she stated that MQM workers were provided the facility of phones. She said that she used to meet Mirza in his room in jail. Mirza’s wife further revealed that MQM chiefs birthday was celebrated every year with a great zeal and honor. She stated that the gallows were decorated with the political party’s flags and Hussain’s large portraits. She also revealed that cakes used to be cut and dhol was played.
She stated that MQM’s prominent leaders used to visit the jails especially for that occasion and took pictures with the inmates. Mirza’s wife also showed colorful photographs some of which were of weddings attended especially by MQM leaders. Rest of the pictures was of MQM chief’s birthday celebrations being held at the jail’s gallows.
