Summary Only 249 bn rupees have so far been disbursed for federal development projects in first 8 months

ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – Progress of the federal development projects has been marred by the slow disbursement of funds. Only 249 billion rupees have so far been disbursed for these projects in the first eight months, Dunya News reported.

According to the official statistics, 525 billion rupees were allotted for the federal development projects for financial year of 2014-15. However, only Rs. 249.91 billion have so far been disbursed during the first ten months. This makes only 47 percent of the total development budget.

Statistics show that 34 billion rupees have been disbursed for Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission while National Highway Authority (NHA) was given 34 billion rupees. 26.94 billion rupees were disbursed for National Health Services, 26.96 billion rupees for Pakistan Railways, 25 billion rupees for water-related projects while 25 billion rupees were disbursed for electricity projects.

1.5 billion rupees have so far been disbursed for education related projects.
