MASTUNG (Dunya News) – At least five militants were killed and six got injured in an exchange of fire between Frontier Corps (FC) and militants today (Sunday) in Mustang, Dunya News reported.
According to spokesperson FC, a search operation was conducted in Gurdgap area on a tip-off regarding presence of militants involved in emblazing the oil tankers enroute to Karachi.
The militants opened fire on the FC officials retaliating to which five were killed while six sustained injuries.
Helicopters of interior ministry also aided the FC in their operation whereas the kidnapped drivers of the tankers were also freed.
Earlier, unidentified miscreants opened fire and torched five oil tankers in Kurdgab near Mastung and kidnapped four drivers of oil tankers.
Five of oil tankers were burnt completely whereas three of them were partially damaged by the firing.
The tankers were carrying oil from Karachi for the Saindak Project.
