BARA (Dunya News) – The process of repatriation of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Bara on Friday has started as at least 70 families have registered themselves in the first phase.
While talking to the media on the occasion, political agent Khyber Agency Shahab Ali Shah said that at least 20,000 people are going to be repatriated in the first go. He said that the security forces have cleared Bara off the insurgency.
Shah said that the extremists and extortionists are no more in the area due to successful operations by the forces. He hoped that Tirah Valley would also be cleared off extremists soon.
He said that each affected family is being given at least Rs 10,000 for transport, Rs 25,000 cash and ration for the first six months. Shah also said that the construction of roads, hospitals, schools and provision of electricity would be given priority in Bara.
Moreover in the second phase, the construction of government buildings, highways and other mega projects for communication would be done.
