LAHORE (Web Desk / Agencies) – Two separate First Information Reports (FIRs) have been filed against unidentified terrorists under terrorism, murder, attempt to murder, 4/3 Explosives Act and other sections at Nishtar Colony Police Station on Monday, Dunya News reported.

The cases have been forwarded to the investigation wing.

Preliminary investigation report by police reveals that two terrorists who attacked churches in Lahore on Sunday were believed to be 22 to 22 year old.

The bombings occurred during prayers at two churches located around half a kilometre apart in the city s Youhanabad neighbourhood, which is home to more than 100,000 Christians. At least 15 people were killed and 77 others sustained injuries in the attacks.

A spokesman for the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), Ahsanullah Ahsan, claimed responsibility for the assault in a statement emailed to reporters, and warned, "There will be more of such attacks."

The police report says more than 800 people were present inside the churches when the suicide bombers tried to enter. The bombers detonated their suicide vests when police and security guards stopped them at the gates.

Eight to ten kilograms of explosives including sulphur nitrate, tetra nitrate and other metal pieces including ball bearings, nut bolts and nails were used in the bombs.

After the attacks, up to 4,000 then took to the streets of the eastern city, many armed with clubs, smashing vehicles and attacking a city bus station in a rare show of anger by the beleaguered minority.
