Summary Haider Abbas Rizvi said Nine-Zero was never a 'No-Go Area', said all weapons were licensed
KARACHI: (Dunya News) – Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Rabita Committee held an emergency press conference on Friday declaring the Rangers’ raid on MQM headquarters Nine-Zero as a violation of human rights. He said that Nine-Zero was never a No-Go Area and that all the weapons found in there were licensed, Dunya News reported.
MQM leader Haider Abbas Rizvi said that even the gardener and the chefs were arrested. “It was said that the party headquarter was raided for only a few persons but 120 people were arrested”, he said. He said that house of the MQM chief Altaf Hussain’s sister was raided twice despite the fact that she was neither a member of the party nor had anything to do with politics.
Rizvi said that Rangers had crossed its limits. “Basic human rights were violated. MQM workers were declared terrorists”, he added.
MQM leader said that the barriers outside Nine-Zero were there to save the party’s office from terrorists. He said that weapons were especially registered for Nine-Zero’s security. He yet again demanded judicial inquiry into the murder of MQM worker Waqas Shah. Waqas Shah had died during the raid.
