LAHORE: (Dunya News) – Chief Minister Punjab, and the President of Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) Punjab, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif on Monday contacted Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain to request support for the election of Chairman and Deputy Chairman of Senate, Dunya News reported.

In what appears to be an ice-breaker, leaderships of the two parties contacted each other for the first time in seventeen years. CM Punjab requested MQM’s support on both the seats.

According to the sources, both the leaders talked in a very pleasant environment and also agreed to continue discussions in future. Contacts between the two parties have been established after seventeen years.
