RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – The Pakistan Army on Monday has been alerted in wake of likely flooding in Rawalpindi and Islamabad. The water level in the Nala Lai has risen above 16 feet.
According to the Metrological Department (MET), a new round of rains will start from March 4 (Wednesday). As many as12 people have lost their lives in the different incident of roof collapsing.
The digging done on the roads for the Metro Bus Project on Murree Road and in Islamabad now have become water pools. The administration fired up emergency sirens after the water level in Nala Lai rose above 16 ft. People residing in the adjoining areas have been instructed to migrate to safe places. At least 89ml rain has been recorded so far in Rawalpindi while 88ml in Islamabad.
The roof of the Parliament has also started dripping due to excessive rain. Moreover, the roads in the city are flooded due to which the traffic is unable to move smoothly.
As many as 12 people have died so far in different incidents of roof collapsing due to the recent round of rain in different parts of the country. The roof of a house fell over in Chianwali in Gujranwala killing Kashish, 5 while her sister Kanwal, 15 was admitted to a hospital in injured condition.
