Summary Senators' standing committee on information lashed out at ongoing cricket casino scandal
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Members of Senate’s Standing Committee of Information and Broadcasting lashed out at Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Tuesday and said that they are tired of praying for the team when the team is not winning any matches. Senators even demanded moving military court against the casino scandal, Dunya News reported.
According to the details, the committee’s key session discussed nothing but the ongoing cricketing fiasco in the country.
Chairman of the committee Senator Kamil Ali Agha said that gambling is everywhere and what can one expect when the cricket board itself indulges into the gambling. He said people are tired of praying for the team when it is not even winning any matches.
Senator Quyyum Soomro also vented his anger by saying there is terrorism on one side and ‘cricket-terrorism’ on the other, adding that the issue must be taken to the military courts.
Pakistan Television’s (PTV) Managing Director (MD) said that the state TV has paid hefty fees for broadcasting rights of live cricket matches and that it’s not their fault. He said the state TV will also earn some profit if the team starts winning some matches.
