ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan on Friday stated that prominent figures in Pakistan invested nearly Rs 430 billion in Real Estate business in Dubai while burdening poor citizens with taxes.

In a tweet, Imran Khan said that Pakistanis have become the second biggest investors in Dubai; if the amount rested in Pakistan instead, we would not have had to draw loans from International Monetary Fund (IMF).

Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari’s and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s foreign accounts and assets were not a secret anymore, he added.

He informed that $859 million were deposited in an individual Swiss bank in year 2007. Referring to a report, he said that nearly Rs 430 billion were illegally invested in Dubai by prominent Pakistani figures in year 2013-14; the greatest investment of $40 million was solely contributed by Federal Minister Finance Ishaq Dar.
