Summary Mohammad Asif, Amir and Salman Butt cannot be punished continuously, the court stated.

LAHORE (Web Desk / AP) – The Lahore High Court on Tuesday stated that a plea seeking confiscation of assets of embarrassed Pakistani cricketers Mohammad Asif, Mohammad Amir and Salman Butt was not admissible, Dunya news reported.

Lawyer of the petitioner had informed court that all three of them had confessed to involvement in spot-fixing and have faced punishment as well, thus, their illegal assets should be seized and the case should be sent to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

During today s proceeding, the Lahore High Court stated that all three players have already faced punishment for their wrongdoings.

The court said: "Amir, Asif and Salman Butt are young and by continuously punishing them, we will only hurt the national team."

Last month, the International Cricket Council (ICC) eased fast bowler Mohammad Amir’s five-year fixing ban which was due to end in September and allowed him to play domestic cricket.

Amir was banned from all cricket after pleading guilty in 2010 to charges of bowling deliberate no-balls at pre-arranged times during a test against England to fix spot betting markets.

Salman Butt and Mohammad Asif were also banned for a minimum of five years for similar offences in the same test against England at Lord s, but both fought against their bans before eventually losing their appeals in the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

The PCB didn`t raise the cases of Butt and Asif`s bans to the ICC.
