172 Indian fishermen released from Malir Jail Karachi

Summary Pakistan Fisherfolk Forum (PFF) presented traditional gift of Ajrak to the freed Indian fishermen.

KARACHI (Dunya News) – District Jail Malir released 172 Indian fishermen today (Sunday) in Karachi, Dunya News reported.

According to sources, the government of Pakistan, out of goodwill, took the decision to release Indian fishermen from captivity.

Pakistan Fisherfolk Forum (PFF) presented the traditional gift of Ajrak to the freed Indian fishermen.

Moreover, the fishermen will be transported to Lahore via train and will be handed over to the Indian authorities at Wagha Border tomorrow.

Earlier, the fishermen were caught violating the sea boundary of Pakistan. They were later tried by courts.

The prisoners have now completed their term in jail whereas Indian authorities have given them clearance as well.
