Summary The mother of the Army Chief was under treatment in Armed Forces' Institute of Cardiology
LAHORE (Dunya News) -- Army Chief General Raheel Sharif and recipient of Nishan-e-Haider Major Shabbir Sharif’s mother s body was transported from Rawalpindi to Lahore where her funeral prayers were held.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Chief Minister Shabaz Sharif, Federal Ministers and high-ranking army officers attended the funeral.
The deceased was laid to rest next to her husband, Major Muhammad Sharif.
Her funeral prayers were also held before at Chaklala Air Base where it was attended by President Mamnoon Hussain, Chairman Joint Chief of Staff Committee General Rashid Mahmood, Air Chief Marshal Tahir Rafiq Butt, Naval Chief Admiral Zaka Ullah, Advisor Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz, Interior Minister Chaudary Nisar, Ishaq Dar, Khawaja Saad Rafique, Khawaja Asif, Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir Muhammad Yaqoob and many other prominent personalities.
The mother of the Army Chief was under treatment in Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology, where this Saturday, she suffered from cardiac arrest.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, former President Asif Ali Zardari, Chief Minister of Punjab Shabaz Sharif, Leader Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Altaf Hussain, Governer Sindh Dr. Ishrat Ul Ibaad and leader of Jamaat-e-Islaami Siraj Ul Haq offered their condolences over the demise of General Raheel Sharif s mother.
