Summary Zardari, Khurshid Shah, Altaf condemn Peshawar blast in strongest of words; MWM announced protest
PESHAWAR: (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that the terrorism will be eliminated from Pakistan under any condition.
Expressing his grief over the horrifying incident, PM said that nothing would deter the government from its mission to end terrorism, Dunya News reported.
Political and religious leaders belonging to all parties condemned the Hayatabad Imam Bargah blast in strongest of words. Former President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari, condemning the incident, said that the entire nation was united against terrorism.
Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan also condemned the incident. He also tried to go to the site of the incident but was topped due to ongoing operation.
Opposition Leader Syed Khurshid Shah said that no Muslim would attack other Muslims during prayers.
Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain said that killing one man was like killing the entire humanity, according to Islamic teachings.
Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif said that such cowardly acts would not be able to shake the firm belief of the nation.
Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhawa (KP) Pervez Khattak said that terrorists will be dealt with an iron hand.
Majlis Wahdatul Muslimeen (MWM) announced three-day mourning against Peshawar incident and to hold nationwide protests on Sunday. MWM leader Raja Nasir Abbas said that new strategy will be announced on Sunday after consultation with the MWM’s central cabinet and allied parties.
Balochistan Shia Conference also announced ten-day mourning.
