Summary Notification issued by FBR increasing duty on cosmetics, vegetables, dairy items, electronics

ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on Thursday has increased the regulatory duty on the import of various daily-use items. The items include cosmetics, vegetables, dairy items, electronics and fruit etc.

According to details, the notification of increase in the regulatory duty was issued by the FBR. The items whose prices will be affected by this new notification include dairy items like yogurt, butter and all kinds of cheese. Prices of pineapples, honey, fish, fruit, vegetables and mushrooms will also be affected by increased duty.

Regulatory duty has also been increased on cosmetics. Duty on shampoo, nail-polish, hair-color, lipsticks and electronics has been increased by 10 percent while on shaving items, the duty will be 5%.

Duty on wood and plastic import has been raised to 10% while steel import duty will now be 15%.

Moreover, regulatory duty on microwave and electric ovens has also been increased.

According to the notification issued by FBR, tax has been imposed on exhaust, ceiling and table fans whereas 5% duty has been implemented on the import of tools related to satellite dish receivers.

Duty has been increased on all sorts of automatic machines while a uniform duty of Rs. 200 per device has been implemented on import of mobile phones.
