Summary Election Commission rejected the request saying the case didn't fall under its legal jurisdiction
ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – Petition filed by former diplomat Asif Eizdi in Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), seeking Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s disqualification, has been rejected by the ECP on Tuesday, reported Dunya News.
The petition maintained that PM Nawaz had talked against the ideology of Pakistan in a seminar in Lahore on August 13, 2011 due to which he should be disqualified.
ECP rejected the request on the grounds that the case did not fall under its legal jurisdiction. ECP told the petitioner to refer the case to Speaker National Assembly.
