PESHAWAR (Dunya news) – 5 students of a ‘madrasah’ in Peshawar were killed on Tuesday when the roof of a well collapsed suddenly. The students of the religious school were studying while sitting on the roof of the well when it caved in causing the students to fall into the well.
According to the details, the religious school is established in a building located in Pushtakhera area of Peshawar. The building of the religious school has a 12 foot wide well shaped sewer. A roof was laid on top of this around 15 years ago. More than 15 girls of the religious school were sitting on beds placed on top of the roof. The old and weak roof of the well suddenly caved in resulting in the accident.
The locals immediately started a rescue operation. The rescue teams also reached the spot of the accident and rescued out many children from the well. 5 of students however had already died by that time. The girls killed by this accident were aged between 8 to 14 years.
