KARACHI (Dunya News) – Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Rabita Committee on Tuesday visited schools targeted by cracker attacks earlier today.
Rauf Siddiqui, on the occasion, said that the attacks were a question upon the security being provided to the educational institutions.
He further urged Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan to take notice of the incident.
MQM chief Altaf Hussain also condemned terrorist attacks on schools. In his statement, Altaf Hussain said militants were targeting students in educational institutes in the name of Islam.
He criticized the provincial government for not providing adequate security to the schools and children despite grave threats.
Swift measures must be taken to protect schools while employing all possible resources of the state, he added.
Talking to the media before Sindh Assembly’s session, Information Minister Sindh Sharjeel Memon demanded that the Madressas (seminaries) built on forcibly occupied land in the name of religion should be abolished.
He said that terrorists were enemies to our education, religion and state.
Apex sub-committees would soon be established in various divisions whereas police will be trained by SSG Commandos, he informed.
