SHIKARPUR (Dunya News) – Crime Investigation Department (CID) on Saturday revealed that age of the suspected attacker was between 25 to 30 years and he was wearing a suicide jacket. Team led by In-charge Raja Umer Khitab and Mazhar Mashwani collected evidence from the site, post attack. According to Khitab, the attacker was 21 years old.
Body parts of the suspected attacker were recovered from the site of incident and will be shifted to Karachi along with the evidence gathered. In-charge CID added that alleged attacker’s DNA and his record would be verified through NADRA.
According to the preliminary investigation report, the explosion at imambargah was a suicide attack. The alleged attacker guised as a patient, accompanied by a woman, entered the premises in order to seek prayers.
As per the report, the explosion affected area within a diameter of 32 meters whereas a BDS official said that the bomb incorporated RDS, C-4 and ball bearings and weighed five to seven kilograms.
Police had already declared the blast as a suicide attack.
