ISLAMABAD (Dunya news) – The government on Thursday rejected the request of Pakistan’s former president Pervaiz Musharraf’s request to visit Saudi Arabia. Musharraf had intended to visit Saudi Arabia to offer his condolences on the death of Saudi Arabia s King Shah Abdullah. Musharraf wanted to meet the Saudi royal family in person for condolences.


According to the details, the former President of Pakistan’s advocate Faisal Chaudary had earlier submitted an application in this regard. The application stated Musharraf’s desire to visit the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the condolences. The application also stated that it was for this reason that Musharraf’s name should be taken off from the Exit Control List (ECL). The Interior Ministry rejected the former president’s request however.


According to the sources, the objection on the application for Musharraf’s intention to visit Saudi Arabia was made by the Law Ministry.

Musharraf had perviously expressed his grief on the death of King Shah Abdullah stating he was deeply saddened as he had personal contact with the Saudi king.
