Summary Sharjeel Memon talked to media outside the Sindh Assembly building.
KARACHI (Web Desk) - Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon on Wednesday said that the Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) demand to call army in Karachi is ‘non-serious’ act, Dunya News reported.
Talking to media outside the Sindh Assembly building, Memon stated that MQM would be the first to protest if the army called in to maintain law and order in the city.
It is wrong to say MQM is not part of the government. MQM is directly or indirectly party of the government, he said, adding that Sindh Governor is from MQM and he is taken onboard on all decisions.
Earlier on Monday, MQM chief Altaf Hussain urged Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to “declare martial law in Sindh as the PPP-led Sindh government has failed in its responsibility to bring peace and protect life and property of people, particularly in Karachi.”
He made this demand while speaking about the deteriorating law and order situation in Karachi.
Altaf Hussain said that the Prime Minister should immediately advise the President of Pakistan to declare martial law in the province of Sindh.
