Summary After petrol went extinct, PSO is faced with shortage of furnace oil as well, 1-day stock left only

LAHORE: (Web Desk) – Pakistan is left with only 10,000 metric tons of furnace oil in its stock and according to Dunya News sources Pakistan State Oil has only one-day stock left with it of furnace oil. After petrol shortage, furnace oil shortage also looms as furnace oil will reportedly be over by Monday, reported Dunya News.

According to sources, daily consumption of furnace oil is 25,000 metric tons. If power generation companies are given three to four thousand metric tons daily, PSO will be left with nothing in its stock by Monday.

Reports claim that an agreement was signed with BYCO to provide 25000 metric tons of furnace oil daily. Sources claim that some more furnace oil will be provided by PARCO but that would not be enough. No ship containing furnace oil is expected till the signing of new agreement, which is why the situation may go worse because of petrol shortage.

No new officer has been appointed as MD PSO after suspension of the previous one by Prime Minister earlier today (Saturday). According to rules, to sustain supply chain of petrol in the country, MD PSO is a must and currently the post is vacant.
