ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - The National Assembly on Thursday unanimously adopted resolution against blasphemous caricatures published in French weekly satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo.
The resolution moved by Railways Minister Saad Rafique urges the international community and European Union to take action to stop publishing of such ridiculous material.
The House maintained that such moves by French magazine are against freedom of expression.
Later, a rally of parliamentarians led by Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly protested against the blasphemous content.
The resolution was tabled few day after Charlie Hebdo published a front page showing a caricature of bearded man holding a sign saying "Je suis Charlie" in its first edition since two gunmen stormed office of satirical newspaper in Paris, killing 12 people including eight cartoonists and journalists and two police officers.
