Summary Indigenous factories have started to manufacture locomotives, says Saad Rafique
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Federal Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique on Tuesday has said that the railway tickets fares have been reduced by at least five percent and that new fares scheme would be implemented starting from January 18.
He said that the official notification would be issued either today or tomorrow and the fares of the trains which are extensively used by a large number of passengers would be reduced. He denied all the media reports regarding reducing the number of passenger trains which are in function.
He also said that the ministry is trying to lessen the losses of the trains which are functioning in losses. He further said that indigenous factories have started to manufacture locomotives here in Pakistan and at least five of them would be manufactured soon.
